SUSTAINABILITY

Basic policy

The KANAMEL Group (hereinafter, "the Group") strives to improve society by providing inspiration and emotional experiences guided by its corporate purpose of "Making the world a brighter place through the power of creation." The sustainable growth we pursue is built upon the trust and support of our stakeholders. We believe it essential to use our activities to add value to both the Group and society, as well as to our stakeholders. Accordingly, the Group has outlined its responsibilities to society and its contribution to stakeholders in its Basic Sustainability Policy. We define sustainability within the Group as contributing to the sustainable development of society and stakeholders through business activities grounded in our corporate purpose.

Clients We enhance our clients' ability to communicate and do business by generating ideas and content and by providing inspiring experiences.
Employees We are committed to creating an environment where employees feel psychologically secure and can perform to the best of their abilities.
We develop our human resources in a way that encourages growth and diversity.
Business partnerships We comply with laws and regulations, conduct fair and equitable transactions, and work with our partners to address social issues.
Creative partners We contribute to each other's growth through work and other shared activities.
Community We approach local entities - communities, municipalities and educational institutions - from a "creative" perspective, working together with them to solve a wide array of issues.
Environment We strive to reduce our environmental impact, including CO2 emissions, while also indirectly contributing to the coexistence of environmental and societal activities through various forms of communication.

We endorse the principles of the "Council for Building Partnerships to Open Up the Future", promoted by the Cabinet Office, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency and others, and have formulated our own "Declaration of Partnership Building."

Promotion system

In order to promote sustainability initiatives, we have established a Sustainability Committee, chaired by our Group's CEO and co-chaired by our Group's CFO. The Committee reviews policies and measures for addressing sustainability-related issues and monitors progress on sustainability-related KPIs.
In addition to KANAMEL's executive officers, the Sustainability Committee also includes directors and executive officers of our major operating companies. This ensures that the policies and measures agreed upon by the Committee are implemented and promoted throughout the Group.
Every six months, discussions held within the Sustainability Committee, along with the progress of sustainability-related initiatives and KPIs are reported to the KANAMEL Board of Directors.
